MANILA: Filipina dan China bersetuju untuk ‘mengurangkan ketegangan’ di Laut China Selatan, susulan pertempuran ganas di perairan yang dipertikaikan, baru-baru ini.Filipina dan China bersetuju untuk mempertimbangkan kerjasama antara pengawal pantai dan rangka kerja untuk kerjasama saintifik.
Semasa pertengkaran 17 Jun lalu, seorang tentera Filipina kehilangan jari akibat pertempuran itu dan Manila menuduh Pengawal Pantai China merompak senjata api dan menyebabkan kerosakan kepada tiga bot, peralatan navigasi dan komunikasi.
