Filing of pleadings and other court-required documents from Dec. 20 to Jan. 3, 2022 before the trial courts in typhoon Odette-affected areas has been extended until Jan. 10, 2022.
The extension was contained in a circular issued by Deputy Court Administrator and Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Court Administrator Raul Bautista Villanueva dated last Monday, Dec. 20.“Upon instruction of Chief Justice Alexander G.
“Thereafter, the periods for filing any and all pleadings and other court submissions that fell due or would fall due during the above period are hereby EXTENDED for seven calendar days counted from Jan. 4, 2022, or until Jan. 10, 2022.” Earlier, Villanueva had announced that there will be no work in all trial courts in the country on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.The “no transaction” day on Dec. 23 will allow court officials “to prioritize the collation and organization of court documents needed for the required preparation of inventory and other reports early next year,” Villanueva said.
He said Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 would be devoted “for the conduct of a thorough disinfection, cleaning and sanitation of court buildings and offices as regular precautionary and safety measure” against COVID-19. He also said the Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 no work in trial courts and the “no transaction” day on Dec. 23 were approved by Chief Justice Gesmundo.
