KUCHING: One new Covid-19 case has been detected in Bintulu on Wednesday (June 17), bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Sarawak to 561.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah said the latest case was another family member of the student who tested positive on Sunday .
"The student was found to be positive as a result of our screening operation for tertiary students in Sarawak who returned to their hometowns. He said there were no new recoveries, with 10 cases still being treated in hospital but none in intensive care.Uggah also said the committee had decided to allow express and stage buses to operate at full capacity effective Wednesday and added that detailed guidelines can be obtained from the state Transport Ministry.
In addition, licensed gaming outlets can reopen on Friday while night markets, day markets and weekend markets can resume operations on Saturday .
