FIFA, the international governing body of soccer, is in discussions to indefinitely suspend Russia's national teams from competing in upcoming events, including the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, according to Reuters.reiterating its call for Russian and Belarusian athletes to be barred from international competition until the ongoing crisis in Ukraine is resolved.
Cezary Kulesza said no matter what name they intended to play under, Poland would not compete against Russian athletes.from Kulesza also allegedly showed the list of countries that have joined the opposition to competing against Russia, including England, Sweden, Ireland, and several others. Soccer's international governing body is also reportedly in discussions with UEFA, the body that governs European soccer, which is also expected to meet later Monday, to discuss Russia's future of competing in international play, Reuters reported.
