Thousands of electric candles gently flickered as the North Coast Quartet performed Vivaldi’s classic “Four Seasons” inside the First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland at a recent concert.
Tickets to several of these upcoming shows are already selling quickly, according to Fever’s website. The classical versions of pop songs have proven to be popular with audiences.
Fever staged its first candlelight concert in Spain in 2019, Shapiro said. Since then, the shows have spread around the world, landing in 90 cities internationally and 40 cities in the United States. “We always make a point of including some of their information on our programs, where you can learn a bit more about what they’ve been up to as musicians,” Shapiro said. “We do really appreciate our musicians making time for us and our guests, but we’re really proud that each city shows off local venues and local talent.”
Shapiro, who saw some of the first candlelight concerts in the U.S., said that the candle aspect has grown as time goes on. Initially, only about 400 candles lit up the room at early concerts.A lot – as in, about 1,500. Now, Fever aims to have at least 2,000 candles lit up inside the venue and in the hallways leading into the venue space.
