: The Federal Court has dismissed former Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali’s application for leave to proceed with his appeal against the Court of Appeal’s dismissal of his RM10 million lawsuit against DAP Veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang.
She said the five questions of law proposed by Mohamed Apandi’s lawyers were not novel which merit arguments at the Federal Court and ordered Mohamed Apandi to pay RM30,000 in costs. His suit against the DAP veteran over an article on the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal was dismissed by the High Court in Kuala Lumpur on May 23, 2022.
Mohamed Apandi, who was the AG from July 27, 2015, to June 4, 2018, contended that the libellous words were untrue and written to tarnish his image and credibility as a former Malaysian AG for cheap publicity.
