The U.S. economy likely decelerated to a 1.5% annual rate last quarter but will "pick up steam" in coming months, said Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker, on Thursday. "My outlook is fairly positive," Harker said, in a speech to the Philadelphia Council for Business Economics. The economy expanded at a 2.2% rate in the fourth quarter. Harker said he sees growth "a bit above 2%" for all of 2019, aided by a strong job market.
