AFTER Friday, Feb.
24, 2023, was declared a special non-working holiday to commemorate the EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary, the Department of Labor and Employment made Saturday, February 25, a regular working day.'Proclamation 167 just moved the special non-working day from 25 February 2023 to 24 February 2023. Hence, 24 February 2023 is now a special non-working day and 25 February 2023 is an ordinary working day,' a statement on their Facebook page wrote.
That means, for work done on Friday, employers will pay employees an additional 30 percent of the basic wage for the first eight hours of work.However, the government clarified that Saturday will still be remembered as the EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary.President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., through an order signed by his Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, declared February 24 a special non-working holiday, instead of February 25, the actual holiday.
