The FDA has issued a safety communication saying people getting tested for monkeypox should not use blood or saliva.
The FDA is advising people that the only accurate test is to use a swab sample of the lesions or rash produced by monkeypox.
The test will determine if a person has the virus that causes monkeypox, which the FDA said is a type of orthopoxvirus.
