KUALA LUMPUR: Faulty lifts and escalators in the Ampang Park LRT station will resume operation soon after an inspection by the Health and Safety Department, says the Transport Minister.

Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong added that the facilities were expected to be back in operation by May 25.

"The facilities here are expected to reopen for the use of passengers by May 25," he told the media on Sunday .However, he added the remaining facilities could be under maintenance and waiting for spare parts. "The expected date of completion of maintenance and overhaul depends on the current situation in Shanghai.

He also urged that the spare parts supply be transported using air freights instead of waterways to cut time.
