Radin Imran Radin Mohd Yassin, 62, appeared before the High Court in Kuala Lumpur, facing three charges related to promoting Islamic State ideology and providing support to the terrorist group. He pleaded not guilty to these charges, which include instilling IS ideology in his family members and possessing firearms linked to the group.
KUALA LUMPUR: The father of the suspect in the Ulu Tiram police station attack in May has been charged at the High Court here with three counts of promoting the violent ideology of Islamic State , providing support and possessing firearms linked to the terrorist group.
For the first charge, Radin Imran is accused of knowingly encouraging acts of terrorism by instilling the IS ideology in his four children – Radin Luqman, Radin Romyullah, Farhah Sobrina and Mariah – and his wife Rosna Jantan at a house on Jalan Rabani, Kampung Sungai Tiram in Johor Baru from late 2014 until May 17, 2024.
For the second and third charges, the man is accused of supporting terrorist activities by possessing four home-made air rifles to carry out activities for the IS group and also for pledging allegiance to the terrorist group’s leader, Abu Bakar Al-Baghdadi. Before the same judge, Farhah, 23, also pleaded not guilty to a charge of deliberately withholding information regarding offences related to Section 130J and Section 130G of the Penal Code, Bernama reported.
