Emergency services remain at the scene of a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Sydney’s northwest with one person confirmed dead.
Emergency services were called to the crash site at the intersection of Blaxland Road and First Avenue in Eastwood at about 1.30pm on Wednesday.
One person died at the scene and two people were taken to hospital in critical condition, along with four others who sustained minor injuries.One person is dead following a six car crash in northwest Sydney. Picture: Matt Gazy Officers from Ryde Police Area Command have established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.NSW Fire and Rescue revealed on Twitter that three people were trapped in their vehicles and needed to be rescued.
An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash and the road remains closed with local traffic diversions in place.Extended delays are expected for commuters and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
