According to reports, the budget for FastAndFurious10 has surpassed $300 million, due largely to the growing all-star cast's salaries.😮

The budget for Fast & Furious 10 has reportedly ballooned to $300 million due largely to cast salaries. Officially titled Fast X, the movie is the latest entry in The Fast & The Furious franchise, which kicked off 21 years ago as a modestly-budgeted action yarn starring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Since then, the sequels continued to grow, becoming one of the most lucrative franchises of all time . It has earned more than $6.6 billion at the worldwide box office to date.

Last year saw the release of the ninth entry in the series, F9, which opened in the midst of the global pandemic and earned the lowest in box office receipts since 2011's Fast Five, raking in $726 million globally. Compared to the previous entry, The Fate of the Furious, which pulled in $1.2 billion, F9 was a disappointment, even considering the pandemic release challenge.

Lin's abrupt exit didn't help matters either, as it was reported that the shuffle to find a replacement was costing the studio as much as $1 million per day just to keep everyone on standby before they could get someone behind the camera. In comparison, F9's budget was reported to be $200 million, which was a large enough jump as it is, especially when considering that the very first film in the series had a budget of just $38 million.

The guest star aspect of Fast & Furious has become a major component to the series, which set the standard when Dwayne Johnson entered the picture. His character appeared from Fast Five to The Fate of the Furious, but Johnson opted out of returning to the franchise, citing his beef with Diesel as the reason . While Johnson's presence helped usher in more guest stars like Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, John Cena, and Helen Mirren, the cost incurred wasn't small.
