Margaret ‘Mags’ Fitzpatrick Corbett died after an asthma attack in 2006, leaving behind Jason and their two children Jack and Sarah
. But a medical expert told a US court on Thursday that the asthma attack did not cause her death.
They said: “This week has been an extremely difficult time for all our family, especially our mother Marian. Retired chief medical examiner Dr George Nichols said inflated lungs, normally an indicator in a case of death by asthma, was not detailed in Mags’ autopsy report. “He did everything he could to save the person he absolutely adored and our family have always been grateful for how he tried to save her.”
“No matter the sentencing, we want to set the record straight and let the world know what the truth is. Jason Corbett was beaten to death in the bedroom of his home with a baseball bat and a concrete brick. He suffered so many head injuries a coroner said they could not count them.
