Eight members of a family were among nine people injured in a traffic accident involving a truck and a car in Mersing, Malaysia.
A traffic accident involving a Volvo truck and a Toyota Caldina car occurred on the Mersing Nitar – Felda Nitar road at 1 pm today. Mersing Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Assistant Superintendent of Fire (PPgB), Abdul Muiz Mukhtar said his department received an emergency call at 3.01 pm with 13 personnel from BBP Mersing dispatched to the scene. Nine people were involved in the accident, eight of whom were a family aged between 39 and three years old.
The truck driver was not trapped, while the car driver was trapped in the driver's seat. The Operation Output Team (PKO) rescued the victims using rescue equipment and subsequently provided first aid to the victims involved. The victims were then handed over to the ambulance to be taken to the hospital. It is understood that the victims in the Toyota Caldina were a family consisting of a husband, wife, and six children, all of whom sustained injuries
