Falim man held over racist abuse
POLICE arrested yesterday a man who was shown in a video shouting racist abuse at a fast food restaurant in Falim, near Ipoh.
Ipoh district police chief Yahaya Hassan said the 42-year-old man was arrested about 11pm last night in Ampang Baru.“The case is being investigated under section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. Following police investigation, a suspect who appeared to be behaving shamefully in the video clip was arrested,” he said in a statement.The case will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor for further action when the investigation is completed, he said.
A video clip was shared on Twitter showing the suspect, believed to be a food delivery man, hurling abusive and racist words at a restaurant worker. – Bernama, May 16, 2023.
