The theme of this year’s Alaska Defense Forum is “Operation Innovation: Building Collaboration for the Future.”
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Fairbanks hosted a gathering of stakeholders on August 26 through the 28, to discuss military issues in Alaska and across the U.S.
From tours at installations and the University of Alaska Fairbanks to facilitated conversations to keynote speakers, the event is meant to bring attendees into the discussion. “It is a very active event where we solicit input with the audience as we go along to make sure that it is a conversation together, and it’s not just preaching to the audience,” said Smart.
Slaba agreed with Smart, saying, “We want you to think while you’re here, talk to people and build. We don’t want you to just soak it in. We want you to soak it in and use it and take an action forward.”
