FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A church in Fairbanks was the target of acts of vandalism on Sunday, February 18, resulting in roughly $12,000 in damages to the house of worship.

According to the Department of Public Safety, at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Alaska State Troopers responded to what was thought to be a burglary in progress at Northstar Baptist Church on Phillips Field Road.However, security footage shows a suspect using a mini sledgehammer to inflict damage on the church’s windows and doors.

AST’s Criminal Suppression Unit worked with Fairbanks AST to identify Joshua Daniel Craft as a suspect. Craft, age 37 from Fairbanks, was arrested around 9:00 p.m. that evening, and has been taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center.AST says Craft may allegedly be involved with other crimes in the Fairbanks area, going back since October 2023.Copyright 2024 KTVF.
