The RTÉ soap opera won't film any scenes for eight weeks this summer due to cost cutting measures - Actor Maclean Burke opens up about the changes and reflects on his 27 years on the show

They will say they need us free for this six week period, but the problem is I can’t guarantee that length of time because I will be needed to film on Fair City.

"We are producing two hours of TV every week inside a five day production schedule. It is a lot. It can get hairy when you are down to just a three week lead time to have things filmed. "Thankfully, it worked and from there on they knew they could count on me. There is an acknowledgement on both sides."
