PETALING JAYA: Media practitioners with an authorised media tag issued by the Information Department will get a one-month rebate on their phone bill, says Fahmi Fadzil.

The Communications and Digital Minister said the initiative will involve some 10,000 media practitioners nationwide.

“In appreciation of those who helped disseminate the message of the Rahmah initiative under the Malaysia Madani concept, a one-month phone bill rebate will be rolled out in September. “All media personnel with an authorised tag from the Information Department will qualify to receive this rebate. “More details will be released once further discussions are held with the telcos involved including TM , CelcomDigi, Maxis, Umobile and YTL Communications,” he said when launching the 5G Rahmah Package Initiative and Civil Servants postpaid incentive on Tuesday .

“God willing, there will be more to come,” Fahmi said, adding that discussions with telcos on this initiative were in the final stages.
