Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil today condemned Meta's action of removing news reports about Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim meeting with Hamas’ top leaders in Qatar on several local media platforms. Accordingly, the government has requested an explanation from Meta on the matter.
As reported by Bernama, Fahmi said that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission had sent a letter to Meta seeking clarification. The Communications Minister added that 2 media organisations reported their posts about Anwar’s meeting on social media accounts had been removed, while another reported that its Facebook account had been deleted.
