PORT DICKSON: A 45-year-old factory operator will spend the next 10 months in jail after she pleaded guilty at the magistrate's court here for being involved in a parcel scam.
Kasumawati Mohamad Amin, who had allowed her bank account to be used in the scam, was slapped with four counts of dishonestly concealing RM12,800 belonging to Jelita Seis, 49.The charge, under Section 424 of the Code, carries a jail term of up to five years or fine or both, if found guilty.
Kasumawati was charged with dishonestly concealing the money, using her ATM card at a bank in Pasir Panjang near here, on four occasions between Oct 22 and Nov 5 last year.However, Kasumawati was unable to pay the fine and was then ordered by the court to serve her jail time at the Sg Udang prison in Melaka.
