A video showing streaks of light colliding in the night sky is recorded footage from the video game Arma 3, contrary to claims online that it shows Israel’s laser-based air defence system "Iron Beam" operating during the war with Hamas in October 2023.

Iron Beam refers to a laser-based air defence technology that Israel has developed and was expected to put into service in 2023, following testing that “proved the operational capability of the system”, “History : First video of the Israeli Iron Beam, new laser air defense system, intercepting enemy rockets, from today”, reads the caption of aPavel Krizka, public relations manager at Bohemia Interactive, which developed the Arma 3 game, said in an email that the miscaptioned video online contains footage from Arma 3.

In response to an iteration of the video on X, Bohemia Interactive CEO Marek Spanel cautioned against posting video from unknown sources,Miscaptioned. The video shows gameplay footage from Arma 3, not Israel’s "Iron Beam" intercepting rockets amidst the Israel-Hamas war in 2023.
