Facebook plans to remove posts making false claims about who started the Oregon wildfires.
Some posts on the site claim an
deliberately sparked the fires that are spreading throughout the West. Dozens of fires have burned more than 6,200 square miles across western states, including Oregon.that it has received several calls over claims that"extremists are setting wildfires," but it said those reports are untrue. "Help us stop the spread of misinformation by only sharing information from trusted, official sources," the agency said.
