Facebook Inc. reported a growing base of users and increasing quarterly revenue on Wednesday, capping a year of rapid but reliable growth in its core advertising business.
The social-media giant’s revenue rose 25% to $21.1 billion for the quarter, from $16.9 billion a year earlier, beating analyst expectations of $20.9 billion. Revenue for 2019 rose from $55.8 billion a year earlier to $70.7 billion.
