WALAUPUN kerajaan tidak akan berbelanja jutaan ringgit untuk membawa kembali Formula One Grand Prix ke Malaysia, mana-mana pihak swasta yang berminat untuk menajanya akan dipertimbangkan, kata Menteri Belia dan Sukan Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman. Syed Saddiq memberitahu yang The Malaysian Insight yang Kabinet sudah memutuskan untuk tidak meneruskan usaha membawa kembali kejohanan itu ke Malaysia kerana kekangan kewangan.
