PETALING JAYA: After his attempt at setting up Parti Bebas Rasuah (PBS) years ago failed, Hisbah Centre for Reform chairman Datuk Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor wants to give it another shot.
The former senator expressed hope that the new government under Pakatan Harapan would be more helpful in facilitating the registration of his new party, which was aimed solely at combating corruption."As such, I have today given the permission to my fellow comrades who had, almost two years back, submitted the application for an anti-corruption party, to resubmit the application for the party with a single objective of fighting corruption.
"We harbour hope that the new government will be more open and transparent and welcome our efforts, and in the same spirit will also facilitate the registration of the party," he added. However, he said the party would stand in solidarity with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, offering their full support to his efforts against kleptocracy and corrupt elite.
