The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is investigating a bicycle shop in Hougang Avenue 7 where explosions allegedly took place.
"Twice, a battery exploded with a deafening sound and huge smoke during the charging process," recounted the Stomper.
"He just smiled at the burning battery, which caused an irritating smell. Just imagine if the fire had spread to the rest of the charging batteries. The whole shop would be engulfed in flames and spread to whole block."In response to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for LTA said it is aware of the incident and is currently investigating.
