KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Health Department expects more positive Covid-19 cases to be detected, after Sabah’s first case in Tawau.
Its director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi said they are aware of the viral"information" that another case has been detected in Papar, but refused to confirm or deny its authenticity.
While maintaining that there is still only one positive case, which is in Tawau, she said they have proceeded to locate the patient’s contacts. This patient was among the thousands who attended a religious gathering at the Sri Petaling mosque in Kuala Lumpur recently.Dr Rundi urged the public not to panic but to give their full cooperation to the Health Department in its bid to curb the Covid-19 virus.Refrain from going to crowded places or holding events that involves large crowds," she said.
Dr Rundi added that people should not shake hands and seek medical attention if symptoms show, and advised the public to stop spreading fake or unverified information.“We will continue monitoring the situation while keeping the public informed about the virus, ” Dr Rundi added.
