The former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, House of Representatives candidate for Ishielu/ Ezza North federal constituency, Obinna Nwachukwu has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ebonyi State. Nwachukwu, also defected alongside his 2,000 loyalists.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the defection which took place at the APC state party secretariat in Abakaliki, Nwachukwu commended the governor, Francis Nwifuru for the various ongoing projects in the state. Nwachukwu who was the former Ebonyi State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, expressed gratitude to the APC state Chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha for receiving him and his supporters into the party.
” I am watching to see how this development will shape the political landscape in the state in the days and months ahead” ' I am a respected figure in Ebonyi State politics, l made a bold step today as l officially announced my defection from my former political party PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
