The High Court of South Africa directed the sheriff of the court to attach Royal AM'S the movable as the club owes R37m in taxes.
Former Orlando Pirates and Royal AM striker Ndumiso Mabena has addressed reports about his unpaid income tax.
“According to the record of the South African Revenue Services you have failed to pay your tax debt for one and more tax years and tax periods. Overdue amount: R575 247, 15 latest account statement. You are requested to make full payment within 10 business working days from the date of this letter of demand,” reads part of the letter.Addressing the matter, Mabena said that he suspects that the issue stems from his former PSL club Bloemfontein Celtic, which was financially struggling.
“That’s the only club I played for where I never received any IRP5 to show that taxes were paid on my behalf. I’m not saying that they didn’t pay, but I don’t have anything to confirm that they did because of the way I left there,” he said.Mabena’s tax woes come hot on the heels of Royal AM’s SARS drama., MaMkhize’s football club was also slapped with a tax bill to the tune of R37 million.
