After winning the World Cup on home soil in 1998, he played in three further World Cups in 2002, 2006 and 2010. Undimmed desire to coach Henry could have contented himself as a highly-paid TV pundit in Britain, but his desire to coach remained strong. “I saw some of my ex-coaches after I left and they said ‘Now you can say you are a coach because you’ve been sacked.’“
