The Robodebt Royal Commission has heard the Morrison Government established a crisis media strategy to counter criticism of the failed debt recovery scheme.

High profile former Liberal staffer Rachelle Miller returned to the spotlight at the Inquiry shedding light on the inner workings of MP Alan Tudge’s office during the scheme’s operation.

The illegal debt recovery program was first introduced by the coalition as a revenue recovery measure in 2015 but by November the following year its perception began to turn as recipients spoke out against debt notices they received.
