The Euro 2024 qualifier between Belgium and Sweden suspended after a shooting in Brussels
and Sweden has been abandoned at half-time following the shooting dead of two Swedes in Brussels earlier on Monday, according to Swedish broadcaster TV6.
The Swedish players have told Uefa that they did not want to play the second half, and the Belgians agreed, the Swedish broadcaster said. With the sides level at 1-1 at half-time, the Swedish players decided not to return after the break and Belgium agreed to call the match off. A police spokesperson has confirmed that two people had been killed in a shooting incident near the centre of the Belgian capital but declined to give further details.
