PETALING JAYA: Malay-language art house horror film Tiger Stripes made history by becoming the first Malaysian film to win the grand prize for best feature at the Cannes’ Critics’ Week, a sidebar for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival that is dedicated to first or second films.

The film is also still in competition for the Camera d’Or prize, which is an award for the best first feature film presented in one of the Cannes’ selections . “I’m just grateful that an audience can see this film, see its emotions, its fight, and its sense of humour,” she said.“I met a lot of people who said they tried very hard to get tickets to the screening, but were sold out pretty quickly!” she said.
