EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has called on EU member states to comply with the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant against Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu. He stressed the importance of adhering to international law and warned of criticism if the EU does not uphold the court's rulings. Borrell also discussed the need for implementing a US and France cease-fire proposal for Lebanon to prevent the country's collapse.
European Union (EU) member states should comply with the International Criminal Court 's ( ICC ) arrest warrant against Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu , EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said. On the sideline of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Italy, Borrell emphasized the importance of adhering to international law, stating that all EU members are parties to the Rome Convention which founded the ICC .
He warned that the EU would face severe criticism if it did not uphold the court’s rulings across the board. Borrell also voiced concerns over Lebanon, advising that the US and France’s cease-fire proposal be implemented to prevent the country from falling apart due to ongoing Israeli attacks
