Following recent flash floods across northern Malaysia, insurance company Etiqa has announced it will waive the requirement for a police report for motor Special Perils claims for affected vehicles. Customers only need to submit a photo of the flooded vehicle via the Etiqa+ mobile app.
With northern states in the peninsula experiencing heavy rainfall over the past week, it’s no surprise that there have been flash floods happening across Kedah, Perlis, Perak and Penang, with vehicles suffering flood damage as a result.
Insurance company Etiqa has announced that in an effort to ease the claims process for customers whose vehicles have been affected due to floods, it will waive the requirement to provide a police report for motor Special Perils claims for these affected vehicles, effective immediately. In a statement, the company said that customers will only need to submit a photo of the scene showing the vehicle affected by flood, with the vehicle registration number clearly visible, via the Etiqa+ mobile app. It added that those needing further clarification on the matter can contact any of its claims handlers or its Claims Careline at.
