KOTA KINABALU: Security forces at all Road Check Points (RCP) have been asked to step up intelligence gathering efforts and refrain from any illegal practices, including corruption, says Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) commander Datuk Hazani Ghazali.
This is to ensure that every security personnel gives their best in safeguarding the people of Sabah, he said.“There are many back-door routes that are used by criminals to get away,” he said after handing over two all-terrain vehicles before a breaking of fast event at the Beluran RCP here on Friday.
Hazani said crime could only be stopped if security personnel were committed in protecting the country. He also said that he would seek a request for more personnel, especially traffic policemen, to be stationed at the RCP and those in the neighbouring Sapi Nangoh and Kalabakan RCPs. “The personnel we have stationed at these RCPs are not allowed to issue summonses when there are traffic offences committed by the people.
