Electricity is estimated to be restored in most areas by 6pm on Monday evening
One hundred thousand ESB customers have been left without power this morning due to damage to electricity wires by Storm Debi.
A spokesperson for ESB told the Irish Mirror: "Storm force winds associated with Storm Debi has caused damage to the electricity network overnight, predominantly in Western, Midwest and Midlands counties. "An Important Public Safety Message: If you come across fallen wires or damaged electricity network, never, ever touch or approach these as they are LIVE and extremely dangerous. Please report any damage to electricity infrastructure by calling 1800 372 999."
