Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, the Chairman of the UMNO Negeri Sembilan Liaison Committee, believes that an equal distribution of seats between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Negeri Sembilan is crucial for the Unity Government's success in the upcoming election. He emphasizes that this arrangement fosters confidence among leaders and the grassroots and reflects the good cooperation between BN and PH.
Seremban: The equal distribution of seats between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Negeri Sembilan is appropriate to ensure the strength of the Unity Government in facing the upcoming general election. The Chairman of the UMNO Negeri Sembilan Liaison Committee, Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias said the distribution also gives more confidence to leaders and the grassroots to support both parties.
'It is based on the fact that we have two major parties, PH and BN, it is recognition of the good cooperation between BN and PH. It gives confidence to the people for total leadership, this is my wish so that there is justice and a very high understanding compared to other places,' he said. He said this at the Ceremony for the Presentation of Letters of Acceptance for the PR1MA Affordable Housing Program (PPRS) New Construction for Negeri Sembilan 2024 here today. At the program, 58 out of 62 individuals received letters of acceptance for new housing under the PPRS scheme in Negeri Sembilan this year with an allocation of RM4.8 million. Media previously reported that Jalaluddin at the recent BN Negeri Sembilan Convention expressed hope that seat negotiations between BN and PH would lead to an equal distribution of seats in the upcoming general election. He also expressed the view that BN is unable to move alone to face the upcoming general election considering the current situation, but needs to cooperate with PH. Meanwhile, the State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Pertang explained that the assertion to not move solo does not mean that UMNO and BN are not confident of winning. 'There is no question of UMNO or BN being less confident of winning, instead, this shows an understanding between BN-PH, which strengthens cooperation within the Unity Government. 'UMNO is used to contesting as a single party, BN in facing 12 times general elections, there is no problem'
