Kinder pa lang kasi, nagko-commute na ako. Para makarating sa eskuwelahan sa Caloocan mula sa bahay namin sa Valenzuela, kailangan sumakay ng tricycle pa McArthur Hi-way mula sa looban, pagkatapos jeep hanggang sa 11 Avenue. May tagahatid ako noon, syempre, at nung lumaki pa, may school service nang naghahatid-sundo. Pero kapag naiiwan ng service dahil sa patung-patong na school activities, o mga kompetisyon sa labas ng eskuwelahan, napipilitan pa rin akong mamasahe.

Nitong mga nakaraang taon bago mag pandemya at mag-work from home, nagkaroon din naman ng iba pang paraan para makarating sa paroroonan. Una, Grab, pagkatapos Uber, tapos Grab na lang uli. Pwede pa nga yung may iba kang mga kasabay para sa mas mababang presyo. Tapos nagkaroon din ng P2P na saktong-sakto sa mga destinasyon ko. Mas mahal, pero may halaga rin naman ang kaunting ginhawa at pagkapayapa ng isip. Pwede naman magtipid sa ibang bagay.

Sa totoo lang din, kahit naman walang ulan at baha, kawawa pa rin ang mga ordinaryong pasahero dito sa atin. Ngayong muling pagbubukas ng ekonomiya, marami nang kailangang pumasok nang pisikal sa kanilang mga trabaho, pero parang hindi naman kinakaya ng kasalukuyang bilang ng mga sasakyan. Mahal din ang presyo ng gasolina kaya’t kahit yung dating nagmamaneho o sumasakay ng Grab, pinipiling mag-pampublikong sakay din.
