Regan touted the proposed rules on "CNN News Central" on Wednesday, claiming they would bring down costs for consumers and slash planet-warming pollution. One expert told CNN the Biden administration's proposal is a pivotal moment for the US auto industry and consumers. "Whether you measure today's announcements by the dollars saved, the gallons reduced, or the pollution that will no longer be pumped into the air, this is a win for the American people," Zaidi said.
