Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for West and Inland Vancouver Island ahead of an incoming atmospheric river, as well as a wind warning for the North Island and East Island beginning Friday.

The warning is in effect for communities including Tofino, Ucluelet, Port Alberni, Port Renfrew, Lake Cowichan, Zeballos, Tahsis, Gold River and Bamfield. “Most areas will see the rain ease through the day on Saturday, though Port Renfrew and Lake Cowichan will see rain continue,” said the weather office. Meanwhile wind warnings are in effect for North Vancouver Island and a section of East Vancouver Island., wind gusts between 90 km/h and 110 km/h are expected on Friday morning until Friday afternoon.
