The enhanced MCO has been lifted in two areas in Simpang Renggam.
The two areas, Kampung Datuk Ibrahim Majid and Bandar Baharu Datuk Ibrahim Majid, were placed under enhanced MCO after recording 61 positive Covid-19 cases.A villager from Bandar Baharu Datuk Ibrahim Majid, Ho Bao Kheong, 45, was relieved when told about lifting the enhanced MCO beginning Tuesday.“We will not take this new freedom lightly. We will maintain cleanliness, personal hygiene and only go out when necessary to get essential items.
Another villager, Muhammad Sulhi Hasbullah, 36, said the number of police and armed forces personnel manning the roadblocks had reduced and that the Simpang Renggam District Council was no longer sending food supplies door to door.Muhammad Sulhi said he was grateful to the frontliners for their efforts to keep them safe during the enhanced MCO in his village.
“During the restriction period, the authorities were supplying us with chicken, fish, vegetables and other essentials every two days, ” he said. Kampung Datuk Ibrahim Majid former village chief, Naim Ghazali, 67, said the lockdown thought them to be careful and practice hygiene.“As such, everyone must be careful and take the necessary precautions to ensure they do not fall victim to this virus, ” he said, adding that he was relieved that no villager died of the virus.
