Encounters SA Film Festival taking place in Johannesburg and Cape Town this month, highlights some important themes including crimes against humanity.In A Fidai Film, director Kamal Aljafari challenges mainstream media's portrayals of the stolen artifacts, offering a more authentic depiction of the Palestinians' devastation than typically presented by Western media.
Filmmaker Basel Adra’s first hand experience of living in the Palestinian village of Masafer Yatta comes to the screen under the co-directorship of Yuval Abraham. Their film, titled No Other Land, focuses on the hostile takeover of the village by the Israeli army who have turned it into a training ground.
