PETALING JAYA: An employee from Baskin-Robbins' 1 Utama has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a statement, Baskin-Robbins Malaysia said the team member had last worked at the store on Oct 22 and upon reporting symptoms, was immediately discharged from work and was quarantined.Upon detection of the positive case, it said its store was immediately closed for disinfection, and that all exposed food and packaging have also been discarded.
"All colleagues who were in close contact with the affected team member are in self-quarantine and currently being tested.Baskin-Robbins Malaysia added that it has taken extra precautionary measures in which all the individual colleagues who were in contact with the secondary contact have been identified and have been issued with a stay-at-home order while waiting for their results.
"Among them, those with higher risk are taking the test proactively, fully funded by the company," it said. Baskin-Robbins Malaysia said it was fully committed to protecting its staff and customers"at all costs". "We believe our emphasis on the importance of team members reporting their illness and not coming to work if unwell has allowed us to stop the spread further. We shall continue to reinforce our stringent food safety and hygiene standards and play our part to keep our community safe," it said.Article type: free
