Due to escalating flood conditions, eleven schools in Terengganu have been temporarily shut down. The closures affect areas in Besut, Setiu, and Hulu Terengganu, impacting 795 displaced individuals.
Eleven schools in Terengganu have been forced to close and grant emergency leave to students and staff today due to flooding. The schools, located in the districts of Besut, Setiu, and Hulu Terengganu , are experiencing severe water levels. The Deputy Director of Terengganu Education Department, Jelani Sulong, reported that out of the total, eight schools are in Besut, two in Setiu, and one in Hulu Terengganu .
At present, flooding affects four districts in Terengganu with 795 people displaced and housed in 21 temporary shelters. All eleven schools are unable to operate normally due to inundated school areas and blocked access routes
