KOTA TINGGI: A 52-year-old fruit seller suffered losses of about RM1,000 after two wild elephants barged into her stall here.
The victim's stall, located at Batu 6, Mawai, here, was invaded by the pair of wild animals at around 8pm Friday .He said the pair of elephants were believed to be mother and calf, and that the case has been referred to the Wildlife and National Parks Department for further action.
"The presence of elephants is quite common in the area. There had been a previous incident also in this area, where a person's life was lost due to a wild elephant attack," Supt Hussin added. In last night's incident, the mother and calf were seen rummaging through the fruit stall while eating some fruits in a video recording that went viral on social media.
