The local MD says a new Chadstone shopping centre store outdid 100 others around the globe in January, showing latent demand for EVs.
A new outlet in Melbourne’s
generated the most foot traffic among the group’s similar 100-plus outlets around the world in January.Polestar Australia managing director Samantha Johnson said the Chadstone site was substantially ahead of expectations for foot traffic, and that was expected to translate into strong sales growth this year even though interest rates were on the rise.
“We’re No. 1 globally,” she said. She declined to be specific about the foot traffic numbers but said it outstripped other Polestar showroom locations in the United Kingdom, Dubai, Europe and the United States.
