A 73-year-old woman in Malaysia is battling blood cancer and requires constant care from her family. The article highlights the financial and emotional challenges faced by the family due to her illness.

A 73-year-old woman from Kampung Machang Berguling, Mukim Cheka, is relying on the support of her family to manage her daily life after being diagnosed with blood cancer three years ago. Jarah Mudin, a single mother, has undergone 12 cycles of chemotherapy at Hospital Kuala Lipis to prevent the cancer from spreading to other organs.

Her daughter, Rosni Mat Ail, 44, said her mother's health has deteriorated and she is no longer able to care for herself, requiring assistance from family members to move around. Rosni explained that their journey began when her mother's body developed unexplained bruises that didn't subside despite taking various medications. Concerned, the family decided to take her to Hospital Kuala Lipis for treatment. After a thorough examination, including blood tests and a computed tomography scan, doctors confirmed Jarah's diagnosis of blood cancer. Before her diagnosis, Jarah lived alone in a heritage house in Kampung Atong, but since her illness, she and her four siblings have taken turns caring for her. Jarah has been forced to adopt dietary restrictions, including avoiding seafood, as it can trigger illness. Rosni added that her husband, Mohamad Ruslan Zakaria, 48, a rubber tapper, earns around RM700 per month, which is insufficient to cover the family's needs. Despite Jarah receiving RM500 per month in assistance from the Social Welfare Department (JKM), it is not enough to cover the costs of disposable diapers, repeated hospital visits for follow-up treatment, and the expenses associated with their two children's education, one of whom is studying at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). For those who wish to help, donations can be made to Mohamad Ruslan's Maybank account: 156208158983
